Islamic State (IS): Pledges of Allegiance by IS Groups to Emir Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurayshi v5

As of 0800 local time on 19 Dec. 2019, twenty-four individual IS groups announced their allegiance to IS Emir Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurayshi following the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. They include Wilayat Sinai, Bangladesh, Wilayat Somal, Wilayat Pakistan, Wilayat Yemen - al-Bayda, Wilayat Sham - Hauran, Wilayat Khorosan, Tunis, Wilayat West Africa, Wilayat Sham - Homs, Wilayat Sham - al-Khayr, Wilayat Sham - Raqqa, Wilayat Sham - al-Barakah, Wilayat Sham - Aleppo, Wilayat East Asia, Wilayat Central Africa, Tajikistan, Wilayat Iraq - North Baghdad, Wilayat Libya - Barqa, Wilayat Iraq - Dijlah, Wilayat Iraq - Diyala, Wilayat Iraq - Salah al-Din, Wilayat Iraq - Kirkuk and Azerbaijan.

The list of other IS groups that have not yet published a pledge of allegiance to al-Qurayshi include Egypt, Wilayat India, Wilayat Kavkaz, Wilayat Turkey and Wilayat Algeria.

This report will be updated as more IS territories announce their allegiance to al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1100 EDT on 2 Nov., IS Wilayat Sinai released three photos of its fighters pledging allegiance to al-Qurayshi. 

• At approximately 1200 EDT on 2 Nov., IS Bangladesh released four photos of its fighters pledging allegiance to al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1600 EST on 3 Nov., IS Wilayat Somal released three photos of its fighters pledging allegiance to al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 0800 EST on 4 Nov., IS Wilayat Pakistan released two photos of its fighters pledging allegiance to al-Qurayshi. 

• At approximately 1000 EST on 4 Nov., IS Wilayat Yemen - al-Bayda released eight photos and a release banner of fighters pledging allegiance to al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 0800 EST on 5 Nov., IS Wilayat Sham - Hauran released seven photos and a release banner of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi. 

• At approximately 1100 EST on 5 Nov., IS Wilayat Khorosan released 16 photos and a release banner of fighters pledging allegiance to al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1400 EST on 6 Nov., IS Tunis released four photos of rebels pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1030 EST on 7 Nov., IS Wilayat West Africa released nine photos and a release banner of rebels pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1500 EST on 7 Nov., al-Naba 207 announced IS Wilayat Sham - Homs, IS Wilayat Sham - al-Khayr, IS Wilayat Sham - Raqqa, IS Wilayat East Asia and IS Wilayat Central Africa pledged allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 0600 EST on 8 Nov., IS Wilayat Sham - Homs released four photos of rebels pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1230 EST on 8 Nov., IS Amaq released a 00'46" video of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi before attacking a border post in Ishkobod, Tajikistan.

• At approximately 1250 EST on 8 Nov., IS Wilayat Sham - al-Khayr released four photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1000 EST on 9 Nov., IS Wilayat East Asia released six photos and a release banner of rebels pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1220 EST on 9 Nov., IS Wilayat West Africa released seven photos and a release banner of rebels in Mali and Burkina Faso pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At 1450 EST on 9 Nov., IS Wilayat Sham - al-Barakah released four photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1000 EST on 12 Nov., IS Wilayat Sham - Aleppo released two photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1000 EST on 14 Nov., IS Wilayat Iraq - North Baghdad released three photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1100 EST on 15 Nov., IS Wilayat Libya - Barqa released seven photos and a release banner of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 0900 EST on 16 Nov., IS Wilayat Iraq - Dijlah released three photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1230 EST on 17 Nov., IS Wilayat Iraq - Diyala released seven photos and a release banner of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1300 EST on 18 Nov., IS Wilayat Iraq - Salah al-Din released three photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1400 EST on 19 Nov., IS Wilayat Iraq - Kirkuk released four photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• At approximately 1200 EST on 22 Nov., IS Wilayat East Asia released two photos of fighters in Indonesia pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• On 29 Nov., IS Azerbaijan released two photos of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.

• On 14 Dec., IS Wilayat Iraq - Dijlah released a video entitled, "They Shall Do You No Harm, Barring a Trifling Annoyance" (ICDV #25147) which shows footage of fighters pledging allegiance to Emir al-Qurayshi.
